User roles

Roles allow to control which Kbot components users are able to access.

Tenant administrator

Tenant administrator is a specialist who installs and configures Kbot, defines business applications, manages log files, etc. Tenant administrators are responsible for both the environment and users of their domain.

Expert

Experts are specialists who work with the Expert tools. These tools are designed to improve search results obtained from external search systems.

Experts check and either accept or reject users' feedback for an article. Experts have access to the main dashboard and their primary instrument, the Expert tools. 

Operator

Operators are help desk agents who assist users in tricky situations. Operators can receive messages from users, take corrective actions, lock or unlock accounts, etc. 

To start helping, operators must indicate that they are available and ready to chat. Once it is done, users can communicate with them.

To set the availability status, operators use two system chat commands: #on and #off. Type #on to indicate that you are ready to receive chat requests from users. Type #off to indicate the opposite. Operators must be connected through the Teams conversation.

Project manager

Project managers can monitor and manage the Kbot environment. In particular they are able to perform the following:

  • View the users-related data. For example, they can view the list of all or only active users, check a specific user's data, etc.

  • Manage intent orchestration. Sometimes there could be several matching intents in a given user statement. In this case Kbot returns responses one by one in accordance with the defined rules. Project managers can configure the order in which these intents are present to users.

  • Inspect the project repository. Run the Project Files report to understand which components have been changed on the installed Kbot instance. 

  • Improve the search results obtained from external search systems with the help of the Expert tools.
