Work in progress

Sharepoint is a web-based, collaborative platform that integrates with Microsoft Office and allows you to store and share files.

If your organization possesses files stored in a SharePoint site, you might want your agents to leverage their content to answer users' queries. This can be done by creating a SharePoint credentialcredentials that will give access to your SharePoint tenant by using the provided SharePoint credentials. These credentials can then be used to access a specific SharePoint site via a Microsoft SharePoint data source.

Info

Note that connecting to your SharePoint can also be done via an Azure Application for SharePoint credentialcredentials, which uses the credentials of an Azure Application instead of the usual SharePoint username and password.

credentials

Before creating a SharePoint credentialcredentials, you must first ensure you possess a SharePoint site and an account to access this site and its content. We recommend using a service account.

Below are the steps to create a new SharePoint credential credentials:

  1. Go to Models & credentials menu Administration > Credentials & models;

  2. Click Add credential credentials to create a new credentialcredentials;

  3. Select the SharePoint credential typecard;Give

  4. a name to your credential;Next, name your credentials, e.g. SharePoint account Jean;

  5. Select who to share the credentials with. This will determine who can use your credentials in the data sources. If you want to keep these credentials private, select Only me. If you want to share them with other builders, select Builders.

  6. Type the Tenant URL of your SharePoint, such as https://konverso.sharepoint.com.

  7. Provide the Username to connect to this site: this corresponds to the email address that will be used to access the files.

  8. Provide the Password associated with the given email address:

    1. Anapp passwordfor the account. (warning) Note that, by default, the use of an app password is blocked due to the Microsoft Azure Conditional Access policies. If you want to use this authentication method, you will need to manage these policies in Microsoft Azure. As such, we strongly recommend using the Azure Application for SharePoint credentialsor a service account with its actual password (see below).

    2. OR the actual password of the account. Note that, in this case, Multi-factor authentication (MFA) must be disabled.

Info

 The The provided account must at least have been given access to the site as a guest and have reading and downloading permissions.

  1. Click Create. Add credentials on the bottom right of the page to finalize the creation.
