A connection is an authentication feature that allows agents to access data from third-party integrations in data sources. Indeed, any data coming from a third party can only be accessed using specific credentials depending on your use case.

The Agentic platform allows you to create multiple connections that multiple agents and tools can use.

To create new connections, go to the Connections menu and click the Add connection button.

For instance, any Confluence user is part of a tenant that contains specific knowledge unavailable to other users. As such, your agent cannot access this data unless it is connected to Confluence via a user’s credentials. You can then create a connection to Atlassian for the agent to access the data you want via an Atlassian Confluence data source

Adding a SharePoint connection

Before creating a SharePoint connection, you must first ensure you possess a SharePoint site and an account to access this site and its content.

Below are the steps to create a new SharePoint connection:

  1. In the Connections menu, click Add connection;

  2. Select SharePoint;

  3. Give a name to your connection;

  4. Type the Site URL of your SharePoint, such as https://konverso.sharepoint.com.

  5. Provide the Username to connect to this site.

  6. Provide the Password associated with the given Username.

  7. Select who this connection should be shared with;

  8. Click Add connection.

The new connection is now available in the Connections list. You can now use it when creating a new SharePoint data source.

Adding an Atlassian connection

Before creating an Atlassian connection, you must first ensure you possess an Atlassian tenant and an account with an API key to access the content from your Atlassian tenant (such as Confluence, Jira, etc.).

Generating the Atlassian API key

The API key (or API token) is used as a password in the Atlassian connection configuration. To generate the token:

  1. Log in to your Atlassian tenant under a user account.

We strongly advise using an Atlassian Service Account with administrator permissions to generate the API token. This account needs to be tied to a license.

  1. Click Your profile and settings (the user avatar icon) in the lower left of the window and select Profile.

  1. Click Manage your account in the upper left of the window to open the "Atlassian Account" page.

  1. Select Security from the menu on the left side of the window.

  1. Click Create and manage API tokens from the API token section in the central part of the window.

  1. Click Create API token.  

  1. Click Create. The token is ready for use. Make sure to copy the token before you close this dialog, as it is impossible to see the token later.

Creating the connection to Atlassian

Below are the steps to create a new Confluence connection:

  1. In the Connections menu, click Add connection;

  2. Select Atlassian;

  3. Give a name to your connection;

  4. Type the Connection URL of your Atlassian tenant, such as https://mytenant.atlassian.net.

  5. Provide the Username to connect to this site.

  6. Provide the API key associated with the given Username.

  7. Select who this connection should be shared with;

  8. Click Add connection.

The new connection is now available in the Connections list. You can now use it when creating a new Atlassian Confluence data source.

Adding a ServiceNow connection

Before creating a ServiceNow connection, you must first ensure you possess a ServiceNow instance and an account to access its content.

Below are the steps to create a new ServiceNow connection:

  1. In the Connections menu, click Add connection;

  2. Select ServiceNow;

  3. Give a name to your connection;

  4. Type the URL of your ServiceNow instance, such as https://mycompany.service-now.com.

  5. Provide the Username to connect to this site.

  6. Provide the Password associated with the given Username.

  7. Select who this connection should be shared with;

  8. Click Add connection.

The new connection is now available in the Connections list. You can now use it when creating a new ServiceNow catalog data source.

Manage existing connections

You can manage existing connections via the Connections menu, in which you can view the list of connections with their names, their third-party integration and who they are shared with.
