Troubleshooting

Operator role is not applied

Symptoms

An administrator changed someone’s role to Operator, but this user gets an error after typing the #on command in the chat.

This could happen in a test environment when the user switches between domains, accounts, etc.

Solution

Set the user’s role to User and then back to Operator.

  • Ask a user to stop the conversation by typing stop.

  • Go to Configuration > Tenants > Tenant role setup.

  • Find the required user and set their role to User.

  • Click Refresh to update the report.

  • Find the required user and set their role to Operator.

Now user should be able to use operator commands.

Not all menu items are displayed

Symptoms

When your Koji server is configured to authorize users with Jira, new users might see only an empty menu and a chat.

Solution

The reason this happens is because such a new user is a Koji customer. Your Koji admin must fix this user's privileges by changing this user's role to Koji admin or Koji analyst. To manage roles:

1. Go to Configuration > Tenants > Tenant role setup.

2. Click Set to enable a given role.

Now the user can reload the page. All the menu items must be in place.
