Agents can use tools to carry out specific tasks, from simple ones that facilitate interactions between the user and the agent (such as asking clarification questions) to more complex ones that allow the user to interact with an external API (such as getting information about a ticket in Jira for example).

Adding a tool to an agent is not mandatory but it can be beneficial depending on your use case. Agents without any tools will only use the selected LLM model to generate an answer.

Our platform provides a range of tools applicable to various use cases. In this section, we will offer recommendations on which tools to use based on specific use cases. Please refer to the following section for more information about the tools mentioned below.

Information retrieval

Information retrieval is one of the most useful tasks that an agent can carry out. Indeed, whether you want to get the latest information about a subject or you want to get the answer to a specific question from your internal data, information retrieval is a key feature to integrate with your agents.

Recommended tools:

  • Web search + Web page content: Get the latest information about any subject by searching the web to enable your agents to answer any question from a user.

What about retrieving information from my internal data?

To enable your agents to search in your company’s data (such as FAQs, documentation, etc.) or even specific websites and answer users' queries, you only need to create data sources and link those data sources to your agents.

Combine your data sources with a well-written prompt to enable your agent to retrieve your internal information and answer any related questions.

  • Calculator: Allows your agent to answer any calculations given by a user.

  • Get weather: Allows your agent to retrieve weather information given a place and date.

Content creation and management

Order items from the ServiceNow catalog and create tickets in ServiceNow by adding these tools to your agents:

  • ServiceNow - Catalog item details + ServiceNow - Catalog item order: Allows the agent to retrieve the details of a ServiceNow catalog item and to create an order for an item of the ServiceNow catalog.

Allows the agent to create a new text file. It returns the path of the file.

Allows the agent to write content to a text file given:

  • the path of the file

  • whether to copy the last AI message

  • the content to write

Excel - Create file

Allows the agent to create a new Excel file.

Excel - Fill RFP sheet

Allows the agent to fill a sheet of an Excel RFP given:

  • the path of the Excel file

  • the sheet name

  • the list of columns to use as content

  • the column where to write the answers

  • the list of the line numbers where an answer is not needed including the headers.

Excel - Write content

Allows the agent to write content in the cell of an Excel file given:

  • its path

  • the sheet name

  • the cell name

  • the content to write in the cell.

PowerPoint

PowerPoint - Create file

Allows the agent to create a new PowerPoint presentation.

PowerPoint - Add double text slide

Allows the agent to add a slide with two text columns to a PowerPoint presentation given:

  • the path of the PowerPoint file

  • the title of the slide

  • the content to add on the left of the slide

  • the content to add on the right of the slide.

PowerPoint - Add image slide

Allows the agent to add an image slide to a PowerPoint presentation given:

  • the path of the PowerPoint file

  • the title of the slide

  • the local path of the image to add.

The given image path must be a local path and not a URL.

PowerPoint - Add single text slide

Allows the agent to add a slide with one text column to a PowerPoint presentation given:

  • the path of the PowerPoint file

  • the title of the slide

  • the content to add to the slide.

PowerPoint - Add title slide

Allows the agent to add a title slide to a PowerPoint presentation given:

  • the path of the PowerPoint file,

  • the title of the slide

  • the subtitle of the slide.

Web

Web search

Allows the agent to search the web to gather the latest information about a user’s question.

Web page content

Allows the agent to get the full content of a specific webpage given its URL.

Advanced tools

Tools for Atlassian Confluence

Confluence tools can be used to manage the content of pages in given Confluence spaces.

You must possess an Atlassian account to allow your agents to use the Confluence tools. Make sure you have created Atlassian credentials with this account in Administration > Credentials.

Allows the agent to get the names and keys of all the spaces in Confluence.

Confluence - Get page details

Allows the agent to get the details of a page in Confluence given:

  • a Confluence space key

  • the exact page title.

Confluence - Create page

Allows the agent to create a new page in Confluence given:

  • a Confluence space key

  • the exact page title

  • the content to add to the page.

Confluence - Edit page

Allows the agent to edit the content of a page in Confluence given:
