Credentials for third-party integrations

Credentials for third-party integrations

Credentials are an authentication feature that allows agents to access data from external integrations in data sources. Indeed, any data coming from a third party can only be accessed using specific credentials depending on your use case.

The AI Agent platform allows you to create multiple credentials that multiple agents and tools can use.

To create new credentials, navigate to Administration > Credentials & models and click the Add credentials button.

For instance, any Confluence user is part of a tenant that contains specific knowledge unavailable to other users. As such, your agent cannot access this data unless it is connected to Confluence via a user’s credentials. You can then create credentials to Atlassian for the agent to access the data you want via an Atlassian Confluence data source.

Learn how to create credentials for each external integration:

Manage existing credentials

You can manage existing credentials via the Administration > Credentials & models menu, where you can view the list of credentials with their names, types, and who they are shared with.

You can edit or remove credentials by clicking the corresponding icons in the last column.

You can view the status and configuration of existing credentials by opening their side panel.

Verifying credentials

You can test the validity of existing credentials by clicking the Verify button. If the credentials are invalid, their status will switch to Failed, meaning you need to review their configuration.

In what cases can verified existing credentials be marked as Failed?

  • The given password has changed. The creator should check if this is the case and update the credentials with the new password.

  • The API key (for Atlassian credentials) has expired. This can happen if the person who created the API key set an expiration date. In this case, they should create a new API key in Atlassian and update the credentials on the platform.

  • The permissions have changed or have been revoked. You may need to check those directly in the third-party interface.
